Checking Middle Names, Initials and Multiple Surnames

Some travellers have middle names, initials or more than one family name. These naming patterns are common in different parts of the world and may appear differently across official documents. An initial on a national identity card, for example, might be written in full on a passport.

When preparing a Sri Lanka eVisa application, check whether the passport includes the complete name or uses initials. Do not independently expand, remove or rearrange names without checking the application instructions. Travellers submitting a Sri Lanka e Visa should pay particular attention to multiple surnames and middle names. Correctly reviewing these details helps maintain accurate information throughout the Sri Lanka Visa process and supports a properly completed Sri Lanka ETA Visa application.
